TORRES HITS FORM

Fernando Torres has been going through a minor resurgence with Chelsea as he has scored 3 goals in the last 5 matches and even though it isn’t the revival he needs to make up for the huge price tag that Chelsea had to offload in order to secure the services of the Spanish forward, it still is a nice boost for the former Liverpool player.

Since Mourinho made his return to Chelsea, Torres seems to have been improving and scoring goals rather slowly but surely. Torres received a big blow when he replaced Samuel Eto’o during Chelsea’s triumph against Manchester United as he picked up a knee injury that will be leaving him out of the pitch for at least a month according to the medical staff of the team.

Jose Mourinho already said that he will not be looking for a forward in this transfer window and after receiving the news about the condition of Torres and his injury, he stated that it’s time for Demba.

“It’s time for Demba,” said Mourinho following the 3-1 win over Manchester United. “Demba had a fantastic week and it was very difficult for me to leave him out of selection because he worked very, very well.”

This is certainly good news for Demba Ba as he will be enjoying more playing time with the main squad of Chelsea but at the same time this could ultimately mean that West Ham might not be able to sign Demba Ba on a loan deal as they have been trying to do for the past couple of weeks.

Unless Demba Ba makes an impact during the time Fernando Torres is out injured and recovering, he will probably be out of the pecking order of Jose Mourinho when the Spanish forward gets back in form.
